On your visit to Alta, you will be warmly welcomed by the Kadars, the native community residing there, who will be later showing you around by foot through the forest and share the wonders of the rainforest. The food served while your stay here will be a wholesome vegetarian meal, cooked by the Kadar women in their traditional flavors.

On longer itineraries, you will find time to be at leisure, read a book, or soak yourself in the serene setting as you sit by the riverside near the gushing waters. If you are staying over-night at Alta, you can also unwind the day with a BBQ and dinner served in your accommodation that is a research / study centre fenced by high stone walls for protection from wildlife in an elephant dominated terrain. During such times, you can also interact with our Naturalists and the Kadar guides and get to know more about their wild-experiences.

AMENITIES IN THE PROPERTY:

The negative impact on the forest comes from stresses on the environment in accommodating the physical needs and comforts of the tourists. Trash, fuel wood, living etc. all put a large stress on the ecology.

The house has two bed-rooms  in the first floor with camp cots and sleeping bags. A dining-cum-reading room is at the base floor.
